Fernhaven.
A booking site for a private woodland spa that sells the feeling before the date.

This is a demo project. The business is made up, to show how I work.
The brief.
Fernhaven is a private woodland spa: one cabin, one hot tub, booked by the night. Nobody books it because they have to. They book it because the pictures make them want to be there.
So the site had to work the other way round from most booking sites. Get people to fall for the place first, then make booking feel like the easy next step.
What I did.
One photograph does the talking
The first screen is a single full-width photo of the cabin at dusk with one line of text. No sliders, no clutter, nothing to read yet.
Slow, elegant type
Large, light serif headings with plenty of space around them, so the site feels as unhurried as a weekend away.
Booking without the hard sell
The booking button is always there but never shouts. Prices and dates are one tap away, once the visitor has had a chance to look around.
On a phone.
On a phone the photos run edge to edge and the booking button sits at the bottom of the screen, right where a thumb lands.
